I am a facilitator, speaker, and coach for leadership, teams, business, life, and sports. My mission is to be a catalyst for people to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and live more fulfilling and joyful lives. I believe that you can create your own meaning and joy. I've faced my own challenges in life, including losing my job, navigating cancer, immigrating, harassment, and working in non-inclusive environments. Through these experiences, I've learned to be resilient, create meaning, be joyful, and not give up on dreams.
With over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, I have worked for several renowned companies, including Google, Microsoft, Nike, and Samsung. I have also ventured into entrepreneurship, founding two companies - one in the art industry and another in ad technology.
Throughout my journey, I have faced adversity. These growth experiences led me to re-evaluate my core values and make intentional choices to live a life centered around authenticity and service. For my facilitation and coaching approach, I strive to be the catalyst that enables people to overcome their obstacles and achieve their goals with resilience and purpose. A catalyst for your personal greatness.
My global perspective stems from my diverse background, having been born in Nairobi, Kenya, and spending my life living internationally in Madagascar, Australia, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and America. I consider the world my home and believe I have gained valuable insights, experiences, and perspectives from living in and traveling to numerous countries.
Aside from my passion for facilitating and coaching, I also possess a competitive spirit earning my Taekwondo black belt while living in Korea and playing Division 1 tennis while pursuing my undergraduate degree in California. These fun facts demonstrate my commitment to personal growth in all facets of life.
Most important to me are my wife and 2 children whom I love dearly.
I am a prominent figure in the wellness initiatives at Google, Japan, where I assume the position of de-facto head of wellness. I play a key role in internal facilitation and coaching efforts, providing guidance and training to future and current coaches through the g2g (Googlers to Googlers) program. I lead facilitations on various topics such as conscious leadership, thriving in change, collaborative management, building resilience, creating team psychological safety, values and vision, and developing your own career path. I am part of a select group of leaders nominated to be a respect@ advisors working with individuals and teams on belonging and inclusion along with employee workplace concerns. I have a deep belief that for sustained high performance there needs to be an equally deep investment in wellness.
As a certified facilitator for Search Inside Yourself, I am part of a highly selective program of less than 1% of Googlers that teaches mindfulness-based emotional intelligence, Google's most popular and highest ranked facilitation. My expertise in this area allows me to make a potentially significant impact on the lives of Google employees, helping them to develop their emotional intelligence and mindfulness skills for personal and professional growth.
Through the Co-Active Training Institute I earned the Certified Professional Coach Certification (CPCC). The Co-Active coach training program has been called the “gold standard” of coaching by the Institute of Coaching, a Harvard Medical School affiliate that has linked the Co-Active Model to evidence-based scientific research. CTI is widely recognized as the most rigorous professional coach training and certification program in the industry. I went on to earn my Professional Coaching Certificate (PCC) from the International Coaching Federation. I am also a graduate of the Inner MBA program, which is designed to help leaders infuse more meaning and purpose into their work.
I have completed over 200 hours of professional certification training. In addition over the course of my career, I have accumulated thousands of hours of experience in group facilitation and coaching. My overall feedback score in Google is 5 out of a possible 5. Additionally I have been recognized as the top 1% of managers and coaches, am part of people development faculty, and received master facilitator recognition. My personal style is to blend contemplative wisdom, insights from science, and a practical approach to be a catalyst for clients to achieve their personal greatness.
